Indonesian Low Intensity Wars 1963-2015

Description

This is why I've been quiet of late!!!!
From left to right starting at the top, we have the Indonesian Special Forces, BRIMOB [Police], KIPAM-[Marines], KOPSASSUS [Army], KOSTRAD [Army Strategic Command] and PASKHAS [Air FORCE]. They each have/had their own camo patterns, although after 1986 they all switched to the 'Pattern Malvinas' DPM, in 2003 their individual patterns were revived but only for ceremonial and training purposes.
They have been involved in the 'Low Intensity wars' of Indonesia and there has been a lot of blood on their hands, some, more than others. They all carrying differing weapons ranging from the RPD LMG to FNC Automatic rifles{now licensed built in Indonesia}. The KIPAM COMMANDO carries an AKSM 74, due to its rigidity in wet and muddy conditions, there is also the redoubtable M16, still in use. The KOSTRAD trooper carries a shot gun for close quarter fighting.
On the bottom row, we have the 'Freedom fighters' from 2 of the conflicts these being West Papua/Irian Jaya and East Timor.
The West Papuan struggle still continues, whereas East Timor gained independence in 2002 .
These fighters wear a wide range of 'uniforms' from captured uniforms, from here and there, [to native dress -penis gourds and rattan headdresses], as per the 1st figure who wears a Woodland patterned jumper to a BRIMOB t-shirt, as does the 2nd man, and shorts and below them a pair of DPM trousers, he must feel the cold!!!
Next we have a female fighter who has a traditional bow and arrows as well as Indonesian Pindad pistol and a Woodland camo skirt/wrap and jacket.
The last two are both East Timorese and represent Falintil fighters from the Fretilin, the 1st is from a picture of an officer who celebrated the Independence vote  in 1998, this was a little premature as Indonesian employed their militias to launch a 'scorched earth' policy until an international peace keeping force [Australian and New Zealand troops] and the UN turned up and 'helped' them gain independence in 2003.
The first figure as a Portuguese Lizard jacket, which has had a pocket replaced and  DPM trousers and wears a KOPASSUS beret with badge, he carries a ceremonial sword possibly Portuguese or even Indonesian.
The last figure wears a Tropical DPM jacket and a pair of jeans. Overall the Falintil were better equipped than the West Papuans!!
There are 2 differing sized M16s with these figures Tounushifan's and one I resized which looks right?!
Right to the thank yous-----where to start:-
Milosh Andrich for his 'Vietnam tools' and his 'Pimp my SOG' Police vest and gloves, also his faces, radio and leg holster.
Tounushifan for his M16 and originating the faces.
Zared Tregonwell for his 'hairy faces' set, his Varkana shotgun and his Somali rebels.
elmengu for his female base.
Masterchieffox for the Lineart of the RPD lmg.
THINK THAT'S ALL, anyone I missed ...my mind is going!!!!
Hope the reading was worth it, took ages to write it!!!!!! Only covered the surface of these conflicts in this spiel!!
